One person was shot dead and his two relatives were injured when a group of people fired at them in Sanghera village here today.
Gurmukh Singh (45) had reportedly prevented Nimma, his sons Monu and J P, and their accomplice from shooting birds in his field on Saturday, Senior Superintendent of Police Manmohan Kumar Sharma said.
To exact revenge, Nimma, his two sons and their accomplice today opened fire at Gurmukh and his family members. Gurmukh died on the spot, while Dalbir Singh and Kanwaljit Singh suffered injuries, the police officer said.
The injured were admitted to a hospital here and later shifted to Guru Nanak Dev hospital in Amritsar, he said, adding a case has been registered in this connection.
