A soldier was killed and three other military personnels were injured in a car accident here, media reports said today.
A soldier was killed and three others, including an officer were injured in a car accident in el-Wadi el-Gedid governorate today, MENA state agency reported.
The accident occurred while the personnels were chasing smugglers in the Al-Farafa area in Egypt's western desert.
The military forces arrested the smugglers following the incident, the agency added.
In July, militants had attacked a military checkpoint in Al-Wadi Al-Gedid governorate in southern Egypt killing 21 Egyptian border guards and injured four others.
The guards were killed during an exchange of fire with the unknown gunmen which led to the exploding of the checkpoint's ammunition storage fired by using rocket-propelled grenades.
