Shares of Oil and Natural Gas Corp today rose by 2 per cent after the state-owned firm reported 19 per cent rise in net profit for the June quarter.
ONGC's scrip ended the day with a gain of 2.03 per cent at Rs 409.95 on the BSE. In intra-day, it rose by 2.28 per cent to Rs 411.
At the NSE, the stock was up 1.92 per cent to settle at Rs 409.70.

Oil and Natural Gas Corp had yesterday reported 19 per cent rise in net profit for the April-June quarter on realising higher crude oil prices.
Net profit of Rs 4,782 crore was 19.07 per cent higher in the first quarter of 2014-15 than Rs 4,016 crore logged in the year-ago period, ONGC had said in a statement.
ONGC, which had almost flat crude oil production in Q1, had a net realisation of USD 47.51 per barrel as compared to USD 40.33 a barrel in Q1, 2013-14.
This was despite the subsidy outgo rising 4 per cent to Rs 13,200 crore.
