Onion trader looted in Nashik

An onion trader from Umrane in Malegaon tehsil of the district was allegedly looted of Rs 14 lakh by some unidentified persons, police said today.

Shivaji Devre, was looted at Lasalgaon yesterday. He first withdrew Rs 14 lakh cash from a nationalised bank and kept the bag in his car, a police official attached with Lasalgaon police station said.

Devre was then going to another bank. While on the way, his driver went to attend nature's call, it was this time, that some unidentified persons decamped with the bag containing the cash, he added.

A case has been registered and efforts are on to nab the accused, police said.
