Works by Indian modern masters like M F Husain, S H Raza, Ram Kumar are set to go under the hammer in an online auction by domestic auctioneer AstaGuru.Com.
A total of 77 lots of exclusive artworks of India are estimated to rake in a total of Rs 16 crores in the fourth edition of Modern Masters auction by the online auction house owned by SAFSET group.
F N Souza, Ram Kumar, Anjoile Ela Menon, Sakti Burman, Krishen Khanna, Akbar Padamsee, Jogen Chowdhury, and numerous more are up for sale scheduled to take place on January 21 and January 22.
"The star works of the auction includes the S.H Raza, which is on the cover of the catalogue, the Jagdish Swaminathan, Manjit Bawa, M F Husain and F N Souza are also our star works, " Tushar Sethi, Director, AstaGuru.Com told PTI.
"The stunning work of S H Raza titled "Bindu" which was exhibited at the Vadehra Art Gallery in 2010, has been estimated to fetch between Rs 2.5 crore to Rs 3. 5 crore (USD 423,729 - USD 593,220 )" he said.
The famous "Bird on Mountain" by Jagdish Swaminathan which was published and exhibited at Homage of Swaminathan curated by Prayag Shukla at AIFACS, Delhi has an estimate of Rs 1.6 crore - Rs 2 crore (USD 271,186 - USD 338,983 ).
