Locals dealing with issues like water scarcity, power cut-offs, traffic jams and bad roads can now directly bring the matter to the concerned department with the help of grievance web portal 'My City'.

The online monitoring system in the form of web portal 'My City' and its subsequent Facebook page were made operational from today.

"'My city' is a very useful online public monitoring system. This is the first of its kind service wherein you can know about the progress of your complaint," District Magistrate Roshan Jacob said.

Through this online portal, locals can track the progress of their grievances. Complaints raised with the concerned departments, can be uploaded with photos on the Facebook page, Jacob said.

"Every department will have a separate page and the nodal officer of the department will solve the matter following which he will inform the person by whom the complaint was made on the Facebook page," the DM said.

The Portal will also help in solving traffic problems instantly. The jam-related complaints will be directly transferred to police control room number '100' with the traffic department taking appropriate action to ease the traffic flow, Jacob said.
