: Karnataka's Rural Development and Panchayat Raj department would launch an online system for monitoring implementation of works and thereby bringing in transparency in their execution from October three.
It's titled "Gandhi Sakshi Kayaka", a web-based user-friendly works monitoring system, RDPR Minister H K Patil told reporters here.
The workflow-based system, which also utilises Google Map, makes it mandatory for compulsory uploading of photos of different stages of works and related documents, failing which bills would not be generated, the Minister explained.

Officials said the initiative would instill a sense of discipline and bring in transparency in the implementation of projects, with the public having access to their progress.
It would constantly give an update on the progress of projects, it was noted. NIC would manage the system.
Details of development works of Karnataka Rural Road Development Agency, Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Development Limited and the Panchayat Raj Engineering Department would be incorporated in the system, officials said.
Officials said Karnataka government has also proposed a separate rural water supply and sanitation department for effective implementation and efficient monitoring of drinking water programmes in rural areas.
A rural development commissionerate would also be created for effective implementation and efficient monitoring of MGNREGA, they said.
A Rural Development and Panchayat Raj University would be established to focus on rural development and panchayat raj and to promote suitable skills and competence in this area, it was noted.
