A Marathi television news channel today aired visuals showing some people snatching ornaments from the bodies of road accident victims in Solapur district.
The visuals showed people snatching rings and a bracelet from the body of a driver killed in the accident on the Karmala-Ahmednagar road yesterday.
The accident claimed lives of three others too.
While some passersby rushed to help those injured others were seen searching for valuables.
Occupants of the vehicle were from Karnataka, who were returning from Shirdi.
Maharashtra minister of state Vijaykumar Deshmukh, who hails from Solapur, visited the accident spot yesterday.
It has been reported that the vehicle belongs to a BJP leader from the neighbouring state.
