Only Indian film industry can stand up to Hollywood: Richa

Richa, who had made her debut with Dibakar Banerjee's critically acclaimed film 'Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!', had been to the Cannes Film Festival recently as 'Gangs of Wasseypur' was shown there.

"If you go to Europe, there cinema is suffering, Japan and China...Everywhere cinema has taken a huge hit because of Hollywood. And Hollywood is America's largest export to the world...I feel very proud to be part of the (film) industry which has the guts to make big budget and different kind of films, expensive films...We are in good place," Richa told PTI.

"I think we are the only industry in the world, which has guts to stand up in front of Hollywood. Like if 'Avengers' (American superhero film) and 'Rowdy Rathore' come together for a release, then also there is no comparison. 'Rowdy Rathore' will still do well," she said.
