Onward journey of Netravati Expresss delayed

The onward journey of Thiruvananthapuram-Mumbai Netravathi express was delayed by more than an hour tonight as the Assistant Loco Pilot suffered injuries in stone pelting by miscreants at Koilandy, about 22 kms from here, official sources said.

The train which left Kozhikode at 7-05 pm was held up at Koilandy due to stone pelting around 7-25 pm, according to M K Gopinath, PRO, Southern Railway's Palakkad division.

G Pramod, the Assistant Loco Pilot was injured on his face and had to be admitted to the Koilandy government hospital. He was later discharged, Gopinath said.

The train left around 8-35 pm after another engine was arranged as the loco was damaged due to stone pelting, he said.
 

A case has been registered and a search is on for the miscreants by the police.
