'Oorja' CAPFs talent hunt inaugurated in Jharkhand

Jharkhand Governor Droupadi Murmu today inaugurated the 'Oorja' - CAPFS under-19 football talent hunt tournament at the Mega Sports Complex here.

Thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi for initiating the talent hunt, Murmu said that its main aim was to select talented players and give them opportunity at the national and international level.

She said that Jharkhand produced talented sports personalities like M S Dhoni, Deepika Kumari, Saurav Tiwari, Sumerai Tete and others.

Tete is the the brand ambassador of the tournament which will come to an end on May 15.

The Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) have been tasked to conduct 'Oorja' - CAPFs Under-19 Football Talent Hunt Tournament - 2017. CAPFs are jointly organizing the tournament under the aegis of All India Police Sports Control Board throughout the country between May 1 and 15.
 

The tournament was being organised in three phases and promising players selected in the first phase would be selected to represent their respective states in subsequent phases, Inspector General of Police (CRPF-Jharkhand Sector) Sanjay A Lathkar said.
