Operation against Maoists and other organised gangs would continue relentlessly across the district, Palamau district police chief Y S Ramesh said today.

"Both naxalites and other criminals will be equally dealt with and operation against them will continue relentlessly," the newly posted SP told reporters here.

In a new step, he said "receptionist" from the existing women's police personnel would be deputed in all the 22 police stations in the districts.

"To create a friendly atmosphere in the police stations for those coming to lodge FIRs, receptionists from among the existing women police personnel will be deputed to all the police stations," the police officer said.

The receptionist role would be to listen and write grievances of the victim before formal registration of an FIR by an officer concerned, he added.
