Talking to reporters here, BJP national spokesman Syed Shehnawaz Hussain said, "Nitish is obviously one of the top leaders of the NDA and there is a coalition government in Bihar under his stewardship. The opinion expressed by him on the issue of BJP's candidate for the PM's post will hold much significance."
He observed that even the UPA government had also not declared who would be the prime minister after Manmohan Singh.
"Let the dates of general elections be declared first and then the NDA leaders will sit together to decide who will be the prime ministerial candidate," he said.
He said the UPA government was full of arrogance after its victory in the presidential and vice-presidential poll.
On L K Advani's statement on violence in Assam, he said it should not have happened the way UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi reacted in Parliament.
Rather Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh should have controlled the MPs who were out to indulge in scuffle and even the statement of Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde on the issue was not upto the level, he observed.
