Opium and cannabis plantation in 1100 hectare area of land have been uprooted in Himachal Pradesh as part of the state government's crackdown against drugs.
Chief Secretary V C Pharka, who sought the progress report on the campaign launched on August 22 from deputy commissioners, said the progress was good and the campaign would continue up to September 5.
The campaign has been launched with the joint efforts of Police and Civil departments including teams ofNarcotic Control Bureau (NCB) and assistance from various departments like Forests, PWD, Revenue, Panchayats, Forest and Revenue, NGOs, NCC, NSS, Mahila Mandals and Yuvak Mandals.
