Opposition intensified its agitation today demanding the resignation of city mayor Ananta Narayan Jena over a sex clip purportedly featuring him.

The opposition is also demanding a CBI probe into the mysterious death of an engineering student in the May this year.

A clash between the police and the Congress activists, who had brought out a procession, took place at Rajmahal square when security personnel prevented them from proceeding towards the Mayor's residence.

NSUI state president Itish Pradhan and Youth Congress leader Loknath Maharathy sustained minor injuries in the clash. Both were taken to Capital Hospital for treatment.

"I am feeling pain in the chest after some police officials including an ACP thrashed me and pushed me to the ground. I want to record statement before police that the video clip has direct links with the engineering student's death", Pradhan said.

A statement by the owner of web portal niakhunta.Com Pradeep Pande, in connection with the case lodged by Jena with the police was recorded.

"I can claim that the sex video has links with the death of engineering student Ashutosh Mohanty alias Rishi," Pande said

Earlier in the morning, unidentified masked youths carrying BJP flags hurled eggs at Jena's residence protesting against his alleged involvement in the video clip and death of engineering student Asutosh Mohanty alias Rishi.

"Four youths wearing masks came on two bikes. While two of them started hurling eggs at my house while the two others were recording a video of the incident. They also abused me in filthy language," Jena said.

BJP state president Basant Panda denied involvement of his party activists in the incident.

Panda said a BJP delegation would meet the chief minister and graw his attention to the sex video scandal and the engineering student's mysterious death.

BJP Yuva Morcha president Tankadhar Tripathy said the incident is a reflection of people's anger towards the mayor but was not done by the party workers.

No comments on this incident were made by police.
