Opp stage walkout from J-K Assembly over delimitation issue

Major Jammu-based opposition parties today staged a walkout from the state Assembly over the issue of delimitation of seats in Jammu and Kashmir.

As the Assembly commenced today, members of BJP, Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) and Jammu State Morcha (JSM) alleged discrimination with Jammu region in delimitation of Assembly segments and demanded a reply from the government.

However, some members of PDP and NC contested their allegations of discrimination.

After there was no response from the government, the Speaker requested them to take seats and observe calm but BJP, JKNPP and JSM members staged a walkout from the House.
 

Speaking to the reporters later, BJP member Ashok Khajuria alleged that there was a discrimination with Jammu region in terms of delimitation of Assembly segments.
