AICC General Secretary incharge of Kerala affairs Mukul Wasnik today accused opposition Left Democratic Front (LDF) of trying to tarnish the image of Congress-led UDF Government in the state.

Addressing the media after a meeting of PCC Committee, he said the opposition was levelling 'baseless and hollow' allegations against the government and Chief Minister Oommen Chandy.

"Like in Parliament, the opposition here is behaving in an irresponsible manner, stalling the assembly disrupting the business of the House. We will fight it at the political level," Wasnik said.

To a query on the move to induct KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala in Oommen Chandy ministry, he said such issues could not be discussed through the media. The party would discuss it at the appropriate time and take a decision, he said.

Chennithala, who was also present, said the leadership meeting decided to direct its MPs and MLAs in the state to donate one month's salary towards relief for victims of the natural disaster in Uttarakhand.

He said the meeting reviewed the political situation prevailing in the state and chalked out a three-month organisational programme.

All block and mandalam committees of the party had been directed to lend a helping hand in relief works following heavy rains that has been lashing the state in the last two weeks, he said.
