Tamil Nadu Congress Committee President E V K S Elangovan today warned the Centre that it would face the opposition of Tamil people if BJP government forces schools to adopt Sanskrit as the third language.
"The Centre has adopted an educational policy which forces Sanskrit as the third language. If the Centre repeats such things, it will face the entire opposition of Tamil people," he told reporters here.
The Supreme Court had asked the Centre to consider not replacing German language with Sanskrit in Kendriya Vidyalayas in the middle of the ongoing academic session and implement the decision from next academic year.
