Union minister Venkaiah Naidu today said it is time all opposition parties introspected on the reasons for their downfall.

His remarks came as a response to rival parties, including the Congress, the AAP, the BSP and the SP, alleging that electronic voting machines are being manipulated to favour the BJP in elections.

Asked about Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal levelling similar charges, he said the Aam Aadmi Party chief was making "lame excuses and indulging in cheap publicity".

"He must understand that these are the same EVMs which were used two years ago in the Delhi assembly elections in which he emerged victorious... These are the same EVMs which were deployed in Punjab assembly polls last month. There, the Congress won the electoral battle," the Union minister of urban development said.

To a query related to the performance of the Narendra Modi government, the former BJP chief said: "It is time that all opposition parties, especially the Congress, introspected on the reasons for their downfall."

The Union minister and Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar at a meeting discussed about various issues pertaining to urban development and housing for the poor in the state.
