Opposition today accused the PDP-BJP government of taking credit for projects started by their predecessors after Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed laid the foundation stone of a multi-level parking lot barely a few feet away from one already laid by Omar Abdullah last year.
Two plaques of the two foundation stones of the same project stand hardly at a distance of 15 feet from each other at General Bus stand here.
However, BJP state president and MP Jugal Kishore Sharma justified today's event by accusing the previous government of "doing nothing except laying foundation stones".

"Before elections last year, 40 foundation stones were laid, maps and projects completed and the funding for the projects was also tied up. However, due to elections in the state, work on some projects could not be started," he said.
Everything was already in its place. The new PDP-BJP government is laying foundation stones of the projects already started by the previous government, he claimed, adding that the present dispensation has so far failed to get a single penny from the Centre to start any new project in the state.
"Has the Urban Development Ministry in the state been able to get a single penny from the Union Urban Development Ministry for any new project? While so many smart cities were sanctioned across the country not a single smart city was announced for Jammu and Kashmir," Jora said.
National Conference also took a dig at the PDP-BJP government, saying that it offered nothing new to the people of the state.
Provincial President of NC Devender Singh Rana said, "Most of the projects started by the government were launched and almost completed by the previous government. The PDP-BJP government is only basking in the glory of the projects taken up the NC government".
