Chinse mobile handset firm Oppo Mobile today announced launch of its India operations with bollywood stars Hrithik Roshan and Sonam Kapoor as its brand ambassador.
"We feel that Hrithik and Sonam are elegant and truly match with Oppo's brand image. They will appear in our TV commercials and prints advertisements. We have initially signed one year contract with them," Oppo Chief Executive Tom Lu said.
The company launched it first smartphone in the country N1 for Rs 39,999 to start with.

NetApp breaks ground on world-class R&D Center in Bangalore * NetApp, storage and data management solutions provider, today broke ground on a world-class research and development facility in Bangalore, scheduled for completion by late 2015.
The nearly one million sq.Ft facility will offer world- class working, collaboration, and recreational spaces to foster continued innovation and cross-functional collaboration, the company said in a statement.
Consistent with NetApp facilities around the world, the new research and development centre will exceed rigorous global environmental and safety standards, it said.

National e-Governance awards announced
* The National e-Governance awards for 2013-14 were announced today, listing 17 winners in various categories, including Thrissur district administration being selected for Sand system for 'Attumanal Neutral distribution'.
The Gold award for the administration and NIC was in Best district level initiatives in citizen centric service delivery through ICT, Sanjay Kothari, Secretary, AR&PG, Government of India, said today at the National conference which began in Kochi. The silver winner in the cateogry is Colis (Collectors Information system), web-based management and information system for the office of Kolhapur Collector in Maharastra.
