Opposition flays Jharkhand govt for lack of quorum in assembly

"I blame the Arjun Munda government for the lack of quorum. We want dignity. I demand resignation of the chief minister for this," Leader of the Opposition R P Singh of Congress told reporters here.

Adjournment of the house for lack of a quorum showed the non-seriousness of the government to address the pressing issues of the state, senior Congress leader and former minister Sarfaraj Ahmed said.

"The ruling MLAs preventing a quorum is a slap in the face of the government. This has happened for the first time in Jharkhand. Such a situation has never arisen even in the undivided Bihar assembly," Ahmed, who was Bihar PCC president in the 1990s, said.
