Alleging that opposition parties have not taken the verdict of 2014 general elections in the right spirit, former BJP general secretary K N Govindacharya today said their attitude would hurt the national interests.
"Electoral mandate has gone in favour of nationalist forces in 2014 Parliamentary elections. It seems that has not been palatable to the opposition and they have not taken it in the right, sportive spirit. That is the reason that they have become impatient.
"I think demands and dialogue will be the proper way... Instead of that, even the opposition parties, especially Congress, is behaving in an irresponsible manner with regard to these problems. That hurts the national interests. It may help the partisan interest (to) some extent for some time. But this myopic outlook will not help in long run even for the partisan interests," he told reporters here on the sidelines of a talk on 'Nationalism'.
Asked about opposition's allegation that BJP and RSS were trying to thrust its ideology on others, he said no thought can be thrust on others.
