Leader of the Opposition in West Bengal Surjya Kanta Mishra today dared Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to disband the Left-backed state government employees union.

"She will not be able to do that. The members of the union will give a fitting reply to her," said Mishra, who is a CPI(M) Politburo member.

Asked about Banerjee's demand that the Centre should provide dearness allowance to state government employees, Mishra said "Why did not she raise the demand when she was with the Centre?"

Mishra said that the amount of DA arrears in West Bengal, was the highest in the country.
