Press Trust of India Chennai
Opposition parties in the Tamil Nadu Assembly, including DMK and DMDK, today staged a walkout after Speaker P Dhanapal denied them permission to raise some issue.

Soon after the Question Hour ended, DMK Legislator Durai Murugan tried to raise some issue but the Speaker did not allow it, saying the matter was under his consideration and that he could take it up later.

However, DMDK and Left party MLAs also joined DMK and were seen insisting the Speaker to take up the issue for discussion.

They remained standing and were seen arguing with Dhanapal, who was firm in not allowing the matter to be discussed today.

He said he did not allow any of the remarks made by the MLAs to go on record.

After the repeated pleas by the opposition failed to yield any result, DMK, DMDK, Left and PMK staged a walkout from the House.
