An indication to this effect was given by BJP spokesman Shahnawaz Hussain who insisted his party would demand a clarification from Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee on the government's stand on the issue as the statement made by Chidambaram was a "personal" one.
In his statement in the Lok Sabha today, Chidambaram said the allegations against him and his son were "wild and reckless".
BJP will raise the issue again tomorrow in both Houses of Parliament.
The party wants Mukherjee, who is also the Leader of the House in Lok Sabha, to issue a statement on government's behalf.
