Orchid Chemicals gets USFDA nod for two generic drugs

Shares of the company today closed 4.79% up at Rs 44.85 per scrip on the BSE

Drug firm Orchid Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals has received the US health regulator's nod for generic Rivastigmine capsules and Felodipine extended release tablets aimed at treating mild to moderate dementia and hypertension, respectively.

The company has received approval from the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for the Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) for Rivastigmine capsules in 1.5 mg, 3 mg, 4.5 mg, 6 mg strengths and Felodipine extended - release tablets in 2.5 mg, 5 mg, 10 mg strengths, Orchid Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals said in a filing to the BSE.

Shares of Orchid Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals today closed 4.79 per cent up at Rs 44.85 per scrip on the BSE.
