Saluja had presented the certificate of Sansi caste while contesting the Assembly election in 2008. The Sansi caste is a Scheduled Caste and the Guna seat was reserved for Scheduled Caste. Rajendra Saluja won the election.

However, after a complaint against Saluja, the committee headed by the Commissioner Scheduled Caste Development had found that the caste certificate issued to Saluja was fake. The panel had cancelled the caste certificate on August 10, 2011 and it had directed Guna collector to seize the document.

However, Saluja challenged the decision in the high court, where he failed to get any relief, as a division bench dismissed his petition.

Following the HC order, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) D K Jain today issued orders to seize Saluja's Sansi community caste certificate and directed him to submit it to the district collectorate.

Saluja said that he would file an appeal against the HC order in the Supreme Court.
