Ordnance factories' conference begins in Nagpur

A conference on ordnance factories commenced at the National Academy of Defence Production here today wherein various teams of these units will showcase their achievements.

The "Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Conference" was inaugurated by the Additional Director General of Ordnance Factories, Ordnance Factory Board, Kolkata.

During the conference, TPM teams of all ordnance factories will showcase their achievements and the best practices would be awarded on December 9 in the valedictory function which will be chaired by V.P. Yajurvedi, Director General Ordnance Factories & Chairman, Ordnance Factory Board, Kolkata.

In his welcome speech, Principal Director, NADP, Rajnish Lodwal highlighted the need of having TPM as a "tool" for continuous process for improving quality and mentioned the significance of adopting small creative Kaizen mechanisms for bringing desired change in the present competitive production scenario.
 

The conference is being attended by more than 150 delegates including officers, staff and workmen from all ordnance factories across the country, stated a defence release.
