Chairman of Brij Foundation, Vinit Narain told reporters that during restoration of kunds in Brij area, a sheet of moulded iron was found beneath four-and-a-half feet thick wall of Ramkund in Sunrakh village in Vrindavan.

He claimed this was the first instance of recovery of iron sheet in the base of any historical water body and such evidence was not found at any other place.

The origin of Ramkund can be traced back to Kushan period, Narain claimed.

The Mathura administration has written a letter to Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) to conduct a study of Ramkund, he said.
