CK Birla group firm Orient Cement today reported a decline of 22.45 per cent in its net profit to Rs 12.81 crore in the fourth quarter ended March of 2017-18.
The company had reported a net profit of Rs 16.52 crore in the January-March quarter a year-ago, Orient Cement said in a BSE filing.
Its total income stood at Rs 623.13 crore, down 10.40 per cent, during the quarter under review as against Rs 695.51 crore in the corresponding quarter of the last fiscal.
Orient Cement's total expenses during the quarter under review were at Rs 604.88 crore, down 11.13 per cent, as compared to Rs 680.69 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago.
For the financial year 2017-18, Orient Cement had a net profit of Rs 44.22 crore. It had a net loss of Rs 32.09 cror for 2016-17 fiscal.
Its total income stood at Rs 2,331.07 crore, up 6.77 cent in 2017-18 as against Rs 2,183.16 crore in the previous fiscal.
Shares of Orient Cement today settled at Rs 144.45 apiece on BSE, down 0.99 per cent from the previous close.
