A two-day orientation and training programme for the newly-elected Uttar Pradesh MLAs will begin tomorrow at Tilak Hall of Vidhan Bhawan here.

The training programme will be inaugurated by Governor Ram Naik while Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will be the main speaker. He will address the newly-elected MLAs on the opening day.

Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan will address the MLAs on the concluding day of the event.

"The two-day orientation and training programme for the newly-elected MLAs is being organised as per the directions of UP Assembly Speaker Hriday Narayan Dixit," Principal Secretary, Vidhan Sabha, Pradeep Dubey said.

The MLAs will be educated about the parliamentary and legislative procedures by senior MPs, veteran MLAs and speakers of other states' assemblies, the officer said.

Earlier in an interview to PTI, Dixit had said the first-time MLAs will be called here for an orientation programme in which veteran MLAs and parliamentarians will educate them.
