The Orissa High Court today imposed an interim stay on the appointment of teachers of Ravenshaw University here but allowed the varsity authorities to go ahead with the selection process of the faculty.
A division bench of the HC, headed by the Chief Justice Vineet Saran, passed the interim order after a hearing.
The order was issued after a bunch of writs was filed in the High Court referring to several anomalies in violation of UGC norms in the advertisment of the university issued in February this year.

The High Court had in September last year quashed an advertisement of the university in which the institution was seeking to fill up 114 posts of teachers.
The HC had then ordered the university to give a fresh advertisement in four weeks and complete the recruitment process in another four weeks time.
