Orissa HC to have two more judges

Presidential warrants of appointment of two more judges in the Orissa High Court reached its registry today.

HC sources said that the two new judges would take oath on Friday morning.

High Court Registrar General J P Das said judge-designate Debabrata Das would take oath as a permanent judge and Satrughna Pujahari as additional judge.

Both Das and Pujahari were elevated to the high court bench from the service cadre.

Prior to his new appointment, Das was District and Sessions Judge in Ganjam, while Pujahari was the Principal Secretary of the state Law department.

With the appointments, the strength of judges in the high court would go up to 17, including the Chief Justice. The sanctioned strength of the judges in the high court was 22, including five additional judges.
