The meeting assumes significance in the backdrop of violence at Maruti Suzuki's Manesar plant last month.

Suzuki, who is on a week-long visit to India to attend the annual general meeting of SMC's Indian arm Maruti Suzuki on August 28, is expected to be accompanied by the top management of the company.

A state government official confirmed the meeting, which is slated for tomorrow afternoon.

Suzuki is expected to discuss with Hooda the July 18 violence at Manesar plant, in which one senior executive was killed and 100 others injured, apart from other issues.

In his meeting with MSI employees at the Gurgaon plant earlier this week, he described the violence as a criminal act.

MSI had lifted a month-long lockout of the Manesar plant on August 21 and had decided to sack 500 permanent workers.

There has been demand from various quarters, including workers union of MSI's Gurgaon plant to reinstate the sacked employees.

Suzuki, however, has ruled out taking back the sacked workers.

The company is also understood to have decided not to take back another 500 workers who are on contract.

He has already met Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi yesterday and visited the site today where MSI is setting up a new plant at an investment of Rs 4,000 crore by 2015-16.
