The Cyberabad police here have booked a Osmania University teacher for allegedly sending objectionable emails to a research student who is now in USA.

The accused, teacher of Communicative English and a research associate in the Department of English at the University, was arrested yesterday for 'cyber stalking' and other relevant offences under the IT Act and IPC, police said.

He was later released on bail, said a senior police official.

He had met the victim when she was doing her post- graduation in English and Foreign Languages University in 2007 and allegedly harassed her by sending objectionable emails seeking intimate relations, police said.

The victim, who is now doing research in USA, lodged a complaint with the Cyberabad police.

"We examined her through Skype and got the required information. Based on that we have registered a case and arrested him," the official told PTI.
