Both the opposition CPI(M) and Congress in West Bengal today demanded an immediate CBI probe in the multi-crore Saradha ponzi scam after disclosure of names, including that of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, in incarcerated Rajya Sabha MP Kunal Ghosh's Facebook post.

"Since the name of the Chief Minister and some of her cabinet colleagues figured in the list which the MP made public last night, there should be immediate CBI probe into the scam," CPI(M) Politburo member Surjya Kanta Mishra said.

"We are demanding a CBI probe into the Saradha scam for long and now it is only getting stronger. Arrest of an MP will not be enough, steps should be taken against all mentioned in the list," Mishra, the Leader of Opposition in the state Assembly said.

"Why other names which appeared in the Facebook post be spared," he wondered.

Equally vocal about action against all mentioned in Ghosh's Facebook post, senior Congress MP and Union Minister of State for Railways Adhir Chowdhury said, "It completes Mamata Banerjee's corruption circle."

"Arrest of Kunal Ghosh is nothing, but to suppress the involvement of those listed in the Facebook post," Chowdhury said.

Demanding a CBI probe into the scam, Chowdhury also said all those who figured in the list should come clean or face the same fate as Ghosh.
