The Union government plans to open one passport sewa kendra (PSK) in every parliamentary constituency in the country.
"In 2014, we had 77 Passport Sewa Kendras in the country. Now we have 308 PSKs - that is four times in four years. Our effort is to open a PSK in all the parliamentary constituencies in the country," External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj tweeted today.
India has a total of 543 Lok Sabha constituencies.
She was responding to a request for opening a PSK in a district in Uttar Pradesh.
