Successful people need to have out-of-box ideas to make their ventures successful in the changing times, participants at 'Unique Business Dimension of Bengal' event here said today.
"We need to always think about innovative ways to work on a business project and not get stuck by a particular way of thinking," Director of Floatel, Subha Paul said at the seminar conducted by Bengal National Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
"When I had decided to come up with the first floating hotel in this region, I had settled for a cutomised iron box, built in Singapore which can float on water but cannot move. So that is how the first floating resturant in the region came about. Had I worked on the conventional model of converting a vessel into a luxary hotel it would not have worked in a river like Ganga," Paul said.

Endorsing him, the CEO of Swswansukha Jewellers (P) Ltd Siddharth Sawansukha said his stint in GIA USA as gemologist and designer taught him to look at business proposition from a social point of view in this present age.

He talked about Bayern Munich's strategy of going beyond the football team's performance on field and spreading the club's brand name to different corners of the world.
BNCCI President Bani Roychowdhury said new talents with out-of-box ideas are coming up in diverse business fields all over the world as well as in West Bengal.
Roychwdhury also referred to West Bengal government's signing of MoU with IIM(C) for training officials to go to districts to educate and assist prospective entrepreneurs to start their new ventures.
"We understand the state government also wants to promote fresh ideas that can be backed and hence set up myenterprise.Wb.Gov.In as a single window scheme for promoting entrepreneurship," she said.
