The power demand shot up to 4430 MW against yesterday's 4031 MW.
"There was no power in our locality for three hours," said a resident of Janakpuri in West Delhi.
Various areas in South Delhi, where private discom BSES supply power, faced loadshedding for upto two and half hours.
"The loadshedding lasted for around two hours in our area," said Manju Gupta, a resident of Nizamuddin area.
Various areas in North, East and West Delhi also faced power cuts for upto three hours.
Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit said government would do everything possible to ensure adequate availability of power during the summer.
Delhi's peak power demand had reached an all-time high of 5,028 MW in August last year. As per projection of the power department, the maximum demand is likely to touch around 5,200 MW this year.
