Jammu and Kashmir government has disbursed Rs 1,094 crore to about 4.5 lakh Kisan Credit Card (KCC) holders under the low-interest credit scheme for farmers.
"Rs 1094 crore has been disbursed among 4.50 lakh KCC holders across the state up to last December," Agriculture Minister Ghulam Hassan Mir said while chairing a high-level meeting convened to review the implementation of the KCC scheme in the state.
The Kisan credit card (KCC) scheme, which gives easy credit on low interest, has encouraged farmers to introduce the latest agri-techniques and helped them enhance their production besides provide better market linkage, Mir said.

He directed officials to provide KCC facilities to the cultivators who have no land holdings on the authorisation of respective Agriculture Extension Officers and Sarpanches of the area.
The Minister also directed bankers that sericulture and beekeeping activity should also be covered under KCC scheme.
