Over 100 corporate leaders, pros join BJP: party

The BJP today claimed that over 100 corporate leaders and professionals joined the saffron party even as its Chief Amit Shah appealed to the corporate world to help create more employment opportunities in the country.

They joined the party in the presence of Shah and Anurag Thakur, president, Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha(BJYM).

Shah said that corporate leaders today aren't joining the party but a family.

"Over 100 CEOs became members of the BJP today which included Perveiz Alamgir Khan from Lufthansa; Henry Moses, country head of Qatar Airlines; Neeta Agarwal of AT&T and Jagpreet Lamba of AIKON Group," a press release issued by BJYM said.
 

The statement gave the names of a total of nine people but not the entire list of those who joined the party.

Many top executives of companies-- Bank of America, Honeywell, SpiceJet, Bombardier, UTC, KPMG were also present on the occasion, the statement said.

Addressing the business leaders, Shah said he is confident that GST would be a reality from April, 2016.

Elaborating on the steps taken by the BJP government like Make in India, Land Acquisition Ordinance, Mines Ordinance to change business climate and restore business confidence, Shah said that the perception about the country is changing fast across the globe and India will be again riding on the high growth path in the next couple of years.

Shah appealed to corporates to take benefit of newly launched schemes of the government and create employment opportunities in the country.

Thakur said that it is indeed a matter of great pleasure that Professionals, Administrators, CEOs and Entrepreneurs' (PACE) have joined the BJP and party's activities would certainly gain pace by their joining.
