As many as 126 officials deployed for election duty will have their one day's salary deducted for allegedly being absent from duty here.

They were deputed as presiding officers and polling officers but were found to be absent during a training session, District Magistrate D K Singh said.

Singh ordered that the officials will have their salary cut for being absent during poll election duty without prior permission.
