Over 16 acres of State land retrieved in Udhampur

The Jammu and Kashmir Forest department today retrieved over 16 acres of state land from the possession of encroachers in Udhampur district.

An anti-encroachment drive was launched in Ramnagar forest division in the district in which 16.25 acres of forest land was retrieved from encroachers, a spokesman said.

He said that a team of Forest department removed the fencing put up by 18 encroachers and other structures were also demolished during the drive.

A case under relevant section of the State Forest Act has been registered against the accused.
