Nearly 17.23 lakh metric tonnes (mt) of paddy so far have arrived in mandis of Haryana whereas the figure was 12.56 lakh mt during the same period last year.
A spokesman of the Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department today said here that out of total paddy arrival, 17.18 lakh mt is leviable.
The government procurement agencies have procured 17.06 lakh mt, and 16,939 mt was procured by millers and dealers.

Giving a break-up, he said more than 5.45 lakh mt paddy has arrived in mandis of Kurukshetra, 4.09 lakh mt in Karnal, 2.85 lakh mt in Kaithal and 2.52 lakh mt in Ambala, among others.
More than 7.90 lakh mt of paddy have been purchased by the food, civil supplies and consumer affairs department, more than 5.78 lakh mt by Hafed, 1.99 lakh mt by the Haryana Agro-industries Corporation and more than 1.35 lakh mt by the Haryana Warehousing Corporation.
