Over 180 alleged criminals have been arrested under the district police's "Operation Dastak", an official said today.
The drive was launched in Ghaziabad yesterday to nab criminals who were at large, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Vaibhav Krishna said.
"Operation Dastak was launched to arrest such criminals who were absconding and not attending court dates. Non-bailable warrants were issued against them by magistrates and judges concerned to produce them before courts," the officer said.
In total, 182 criminals were arrested since the operation was launched on Saturday, he said.
The SSP said that 101 people were arrested in non-bailable cases.
Police have seized around 12 kg of cannabis, 218 litter of illicit liquor and looted cash of around Rs 1 lakh during the operation, he said.
This special drive will remain continue, the SSP said.
