As many as 6,114 pilgrims paid obeisance at the Amarnath cave shrine of Lord Shiva in south Kashmir Himalayas on Friday, officials said.

As many as 3,627 pilgrims, including women and sadhus, left the Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu for Baltal and Nunwan camps under unprecedented security arrangements for Amaranth Yatra Friday, they said.

"On the 19th day of the ongoing Shri Amarnath Yatra, 6,114 pilgrims paid obeisance at the cave," one of the officials said.

Till date 2,38,974 pilgrims paid obeisance at the cave shrine, they added.

The upward movement of pilgrims remained completely suspended from the Baltal route due to rain and slippery track conditions on Friday, they added.

While 1,411 went to the Baltal base camp, 2,216 went to Pahalgam base camp from here, they said.

They said that so far, 19 pilgrims have died during the pilgrimage.
