Over 2.7 lakh pilgrims visited and paid their obeisance at the holy cave shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi during Navaratras in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir.

As many as 2,76,286 pilgrims visited the holy town at Katra to pay obeisance at Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine during the Navratra festival that ended yesterday, an official of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) said.

Around 2,43,920 pilgrims had paid their obeisance at the cave shrine during the Navratra festival last year, the official said adding that this year recorded an increase of 32,366 devotees.

The increase in pilgrimage was significant as overall yatra had declined this year as compared to last year.
