As many as 25.05 lakh people in Haryana have been enrolled under the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) scheme from May, 2015 to April, 2017, state minister Kavita Jain said today.

Under the scheme, accidental insurance cover is provided to all residents of Haryana in the age group of 18 to 70 years.

The Urban Local Bodies Minister, who was here for redressing the grievances of people, said under this scheme, the risk coverage available is Rs two lakh for accidental deaths and permanent total disability, and Rs one lakh for permanent partial disability.

She said the scheme was being offered through banks and administered through public sector and other general insurance companies.

"All residents of Haryana having Aadhaar-seeded saving bank accounts, in the age group of 18 to 70 years, are entitled to join the scheme. Aadhaar is the primary KYC for the bank account and insurance coverage," Jain added.
