Over 25 lakh tonnes (LT) of paddy have been procured in Haryana so far by procurement agencies during the ongoing kharif marketing season.
As much as 26.87 LT of leviable paddy and 0.76 LT of non-leviable paddy have arrived in the mandis of Haryana till now, an official spokesman said today.
He said that out of the total arrival, 1.85 LT has been bought by private millers and dealers.

He added that Kurukshetra procured the maximum amount of paddy at over 7.08 LT, followed by Karnal at over 5.89 LT.
Similarly, 3.80 LT of paddy was procured in Ambala, over 3.51 LT in Kaithal, over 1.91 LT in Yamunanagar, over 1.30 LT in Fatehabad, 81,972 MT in Panchkula, 38,416 MT in Sirsa, 26,691 MT in Jind, 1,057 MT in Palwal, 712 MT in Hisar and 72 MT in Rohtak.
The spokesman also said that during KMS 2015-16, a quantity of 12,054 MT of Bajra has arrived in the mandis of Haryana.
Around 3,609 MT has been purchased on MSP by agencies, including 3,345 MT by Hafed, 43 MT by Food Department and 221 MT by Haryana Warehousing Corporation and remaining 8,445 MT by traders, whereas last year no procurement of Bajra was made on MSP.
The state government has decided to distribute 10 kg bajra to every family at Re 1 under the Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS) other than the wheat to be distributed under National Food Security Act (NFSA), he informed.
During last one year, three projects have got approval to construct godowns with a capacity of 26,380 MT, 42,200 MT and 21,098 MT of 89,678 MT at Bhorsainda in Kurukshetra, Kharkhoda in Sonepat and Tigaon district in Faridabad, respectively, he added.
NABARD has also approved a loan of Rs 44.29 crore which accounts for 95 per cent of these projects under Warehousing Infrastructure Fund (WIF) and the remaining amount of Rs 2.33 crore is to be borne by the Haryana government, the spokesperson said.
